ULMITB
The ACT Utilities and Light Manufacturing industry Training Board
was established in 1995 as part of the National ITAB Network and has
direct responsibility for representing the training interests of the ACT's
Electrical, Electrical Supply, Electronics, Water, Gas and Light
Manufacturing industries.
The ACT Utilities and Light Manufacturing Industry
Training Board's main responsibilities to the industries under its
coverage are to:
- Identify training requirements of the industries in the ACT
- Establish agreed training strategies and standards for the industries in the ACT
- Promote and represent the training interests of the industries in the ACT
- Liase with both National and State/Territory ITAB networks to ensure intra and interstate reciprocity of licensing and training wherever possible.

To varying degrees, these groups require the ITB to provide:
- Information and advice on industry training needs and priorities.
- Information and advice on Vocational Education and Training (VET) and associated systems (ie: licensing)
- A mechanism for liaison and negotiation between industry and organisations involved in VET.
- Promotion of labor market planning and the development of human resources in the industries under its coverage.
